Livelihoods, Protection & Economic Empowerment
We focus to supports young people to pursue either of two pathways; self-employment or employment with appropriate economic empowerment. SONYO utilizes market-based approaches to support youth to build and grow market-driven enterprises, skills and knowledge.
Such approaches include identifying existing, or establishing new, individual or group enterprises; supporting them to register and develop strong governance structures; providing training on core life-skills (e.g. leadership, teamwork, conflict resolution and effective communication) and enterprise development (e.g. business planning, networking, and marketing); linking youth to government and private sector resources; and civic/public education. SONYO undertakes advocacy, communication and information sharing roles to promote the aforementioned activities.
Under this department includes career counselling and internship programs, linkages with TVET and vocational trainings
Advocacy, lobbing, Gender & Civic Engagement
SONYO seeks to influence policy makers on inclusiveness of youth issues in the policies and development blueprints at local, national and even international levels.

We focus on youth/youth organisations’ capacity building, networking and mentorship needs assessment.
