Why SONYO?
To build an effective youth sector and take up the role of the Civil Society sector in making the youth agenda counted in all circles of life and all corners of governance. It was primarily intended to operate as a fully-fledged national umbrella organization for youth organizations in Somaliland and is committed to the advocacy, development, capacity building, mobilization, and coordination of Somaliland youth and the community as a whole Since its inception, SONYO proved to be very viable nationwide youth umbrella and its membership grew to 54 member organizations from youth led NGOs, associations, students unions and higher education institutions in Somaliland.
